Anime fans have a new original series to look forward to, as David Production, the renowned studio behind JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and Fire Force, has officially announced Onmyo Kaiten Re:Verse.
The much-anticipated anime is set to premiere in July 2025, as revealed on Thursday, March 6, 2025.

David Production has been working diligently on Onmyo Kaiten Re:Verse, an original anime that blends elements of historical fantasy, onmyojutsu (Japanese esoteric magic), and action-packed adventure.
The anime is set to deliver breathtaking animation and a compelling story that transports viewers to an alternate Heian-era Japan.
Adding to the excitement, Fujiko Sakuno and Kyujo Matsumoto have been penning a manga adaptation of the story, which debuted on February 6, 2025, in Kodansha’s Morning Two magazine.
This manga adaptation will give fans an opportunity to explore the story ahead of the anime’s release.
First Look: Key Visual and Promotional Video
The key visual showcases protagonist Takeru Narehira reaching out to save Tsukimiya, the central heroine, as she tumbles into the unknown.
Observing them from a distance is none other than Abe no Seimei, a legendary figure in Japanese folklore, suggesting that the story will delve deep into mystical themes and supernatural elements.
Meanwhile, the promotional video provides a more detailed look at the anime’s plot and tone.
It follows Takeru Narehira, a fiery and courageous young man who, in an attempt to save a helpless creature from getting crushed on the road, ends up falling off a cliff himself.
Instead of meeting his end, he wakes up in an alternate version of Heian-kyo, known as Denji Heian-kyo.
There, he encounters Tsukimiya, a girl who has appeared countless times in his dreams.
Bound by fate, he vows to protect her and begins training under the legendary Abe no Seimei, mastering the mystical onmyojutsu techniques to fulfill his promise.
